Troy Kenneth Aikman grew up in Cerritos, CA, and earned all-state honors at Henryetta, OK, High School after his parents (Kenneth and Charlyn) moved the family when Troy was 12. Named Henryettan of the Year for 1992, Aikman sponsors a scholarship at Henryetta H.S. for students who want to attend college but can't afford it. He also set up a permanently endowed scholarship at UCLA, where he majored in sociology. In 1992, he established the Troy Aikman Foundation, which benefits children's charities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
In two seasons at UCLA, Aikman completed 64.8% of his passes for 5,298 yards and 41 touchdowns while throwing only 17 interceptions. He finished his collegiate career as the third rated passes in NCAA history. The All-American led the Bruins to a 20-4 record, including wins in the 1987 Aloha Bowl and the 1989 Cotton Bowl. He transferred to UCLA after two seasons under Head Coach Barry Switzer at Oklahoma in 1984 and 1985.
In six seasons as the Cowboy's leader, Troy Aikman has guided Dallas from the National Football League cellar of 1-15 in 1989 to three consecutive NFC Championship Games and back-to-back titles in Super Bowl XXVII and XXVIII. Along the way, he has become one of the games most accurate passers, completing at least 60 percent of his passes in 52 of the last 65 games (since the start of the 1991 season). Aikman's career completion percentage of 62.43% is third best in NFL history behind only Steve Young (63.65%) and Joe Montana (63.24%), putting his name among the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
Entering the 1995 season, Aikman holds or is tied for 29 Dallas passing records, and one area where he is among the game's best is quarterback rating. Aikman's career mark of 81.623 places him 17th in NFL history, easily within reach of Len Dawson (82.555) and the all-time top ten this year. In doing so, Aikman would pass Danny White (15th at 81.7) and close in on the club record held by Roger Staubach at 83.5 (sixth all-time). Despite beginning his career 1-14, Aikman's record as a starter stood at 55-35 (0.611) at the beginning of the season, including 7-1 in the post-season.

Troy has also set up a childrens section at The Children's Hospital of Dallas called Aikman's End Zone. It is a 2,500 square
foot interactive playroom and learning center for children who are patients at the
hospital.
Troy is a participant in STARBRIGHT. It is a
collaboration of pediatric healthcare professionals and entertainment leaders organized by
Steven Spielberg and H. Norman Schwarzkopf. The goal of the group is to improve the
development of entertainment-oriented therapeutic resources for seriously ill children and
their families.
One of Troy's greatest accomplishments is the fact that he has been a finalist for NFL Man of the Year for the past five years. He also received the Byron White Humanitarian Award in 1994.
